Dr. Ballard is an Associate Professor of Kinesiology in the School of Education as well as the Associate Dean. Additionally, she is the current chair of the Kinesiology Department and teaches an assortment of kinesiology courses.
Dr. Ballard teaches a number of kinesiology courses such as the basic introduction course and how to modify physical activity. She takes a hands-on approach to teaching. While it is very important to teach concepts and theories, it is crucial to put these ideas into action. By providing her students with tangible examples, she helps them put their learning to the test and see firsthand what the course material really means.
Dr. Ballard enjoys introducing learners to perspectives they may not have considered before or making them think about ideas in new ways.She loves seeing the “aha” moment when a student grasps a concept. She points out that by teaching, she is constantly learning too.
